This blog is all about my journey living and working in Moshi, Tanzania. This process began before I moved to Moshi in July 2006 and continues as I have been living here six and a half years. I like to write blogs about the kids here at Treasures of Africa Children's Home and about life in Tanzania and the fun things about living in a different culture. The children have become a huge part of my life here. I have fallen in love with them and each day they bring something new and fun to life. God has truly blessed me.

A Conversation I Had Today With Moses

Here is a conversation that took place today between Moses and myself:
(I left in the “Moses vocabulary” just for the fun of it)

Moses: Mama come and kick the soccer ball with me.
Me: Moses I don’t like to kick the soccer ball when I am wearing flip flops. It doesn’t ever work out when I have my flip flops on.
Moses: You can’t say no to kick the ball. We must kick the soccer ball together. It is fun.
Me: Moses I don’t want anything to happen to my flip flops. These are still new and I like them a lot.
Moses: Mama come on let’s kick together and have fun.
Me: Ok let’s kick and have fun.

15 minutes later

Me: Moses look at my flip flop.
Moses: Oh you have a broken flip flop.
Me: This is one of my new pairs of flip flops…it was supposed to last me another 6 to 8 months. Now it is broken and I won’t be able to get another pair for a long time.
Moses: You have a broken flip flop and now you can’t kick the ball.
Me: Sorry about that Moses.
Moses: That’s ok. I must come with you inside because I must to be with you wherever you are going.
Me: I love you Big Boy
